Optimization and Security of Electromechanical Systems

Electromechanical systems are a device that uses mechanical parts to do electrical works or vice versa. Electromechanics combines processes and procedures drawn from electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Electromechanics focuses on the interaction of electrical and mechanical systems as a whole and how the two systems interact with each other.

Research Areas

  • Cybersecurity of infrastructure (energy grids, manufacturing)
  • Energy systems optimization
  • Software validation and software engineering
  • Energy efficiency and emissions reduction
  • Optimization of wireless systems
  • Cybersecurity of networked devices (including vehicles and generators and components of renewable energy, and manufacturing systems)
