Sustainable Rural Manufacturing

Research in this area focuses on the development of computational approaches for sustainability and life cycle assessment of different technologies. Such assessment methods involve metrics for quantifying process efficiency, economics, sustainability and resilience aspects. The software tool GREENSCOPE from the United States Environmental Protection Agency collaborators originally proposed for sustainability assessment is further extended at West Virginia University for process manufacturing optimization and life cycle inventory analysis.
